Between reality and imagination, where do we place ourselves?
Before Becoming Light brings together six artists who use animals, figures, and staged scenes as metaphors to question freedom, identity, and self-worth in contemporary life. The works appear light, yet carry the weight of expectation and observation.
A chased dog. A moon rabbit in transit. Birds displaced on a branch. A horse dressed as a unicorn. A mythical being crossing starlight. A reclining body in a constructed space. These images are subtle, restrained, and quietly ironic. They do not escape reality—they reframe it.
In an era driven by visibility and uniqueness, we are constantly asked to become “special” and “indispensable.” Before becoming light, however, we must first loosen the frame that defines us.
This exhibition is not about fantasy.
It is about transformation.
Finding lightness within weight.

在現實與想像之間，我們如何安放自己？
《輕盈之前》集結六位藝術家，以動物、角色與身體作為隱喻，回應當代人對自由、身份與自我價值的提問。畫面看似輕盈，實則承載壓力與觀看的重量。
「被追逐的小狗、踏上旅程的月見兔、枝頭上失衡的鳥群、刻意扮演獨角獸的馬、穿越星光的神話生靈，以及安放於日常空間中的身體」，這些形象既幽默又克制，既溫柔又帶有距離感。牠們不是逃離現實，而是重新觀看現實。
在高度競爭與被定義的時代，我們不斷被要求「特別」、「被看見」、「不可取代」。然而，在真正成為光亮之前，也許我們更需要的是鬆動框架的能力。
《輕盈之前》不是關於逃避，而是關於轉化。
在重量之中，找到屬於自己的輕盈。
